MA BIBLIOTHÈQUE is a not-for-profit project by  the artist and writer Sharon Kivland. She agrees with Nabokov that a good reader, a major reader, an active and creative reader, is a re-reader. She knows her writers and they know her, even when they have not yet met. They have read each other, or believe themselves to have done so. They are flirtatious, ruffling pages.

Erin Honeycutt is a writer in Berlin where they run the publishing project Cutt Press. Their work often explores the materiality of language and the institution of the book. Dear Enheduanna is forthcoming from Ugly Duckling Presse, andNight School from MA BIBLIOTHÈQUE.Sheis co-editor of VORTEXT magazine.

Katharina Ludwig is a writer, researcher, artist, and sometime poet based in Berlin and London. Her/their work has been shown, performed, read, and published internationally. The Hole: An Insurrectionary Poetics is forthcoming fromMA BIBLIOTHÈQUE, in collaboration withCutt Press, and apoetry chapbookfromBaulk Press. Sheis co-editor of VORTEXT magazine.

Bridget Penney was born and grew up in Edinburgh, and now lives in Brighton. She has published three fiction titles: Honeymoon with death,Polygon 1991, Index,Book Works 2008, and Licorice,Book Works 2020.Sonia’s Book  was published in the spring by MA BIBLIOTHÈQUE.

JOAN is a project for contemporary writing, with a focus on literature with art sensibilities. Founded in 2020, JOAN is currently co-edited by Rachel Cattle, Mireille Fauchon, and Susan Finlay. The press has published 24 books to date, most recently Fish Out of Water by Claire-Louise Bennett, Good Work by Paul Becker and Her Discourse, by Sharon Kivland.

Sam Cottington is a writer, artist and theatre/performance maker living between London and Frankfurt. A graduate  of Monica Baer’s class at Städelschule (Frankfurt) and Goldsmith’s Art and Art history programme (London), he is an intern at The Wooster Group (New York).He has presented work at High Art (Paris), Nir Altman (Munich) and Sculpture Centre (New York). An associate artist at London Performance studios, his first collection of plays (written to be performed over the phone) was published by Montez press last year. His first book,People Person, is published by JOAN.

Susan Finlay is an artist, writer, and publisher. She writes poetry, cultural criticism, and fiction, most recently the anti-memoir,The Lives of the Artists, which was published by JOAN in 2023. She lives in Berlin.

Sharon Kivland is an artist,writer, and publisher. Currently a set of a hundred and twenty drawings entitledThe Bloody Radicals is on exhibition at ZAK, Zittadelle Spandau. Her novelAbécédaire was published by Moist Books (2022), Almanach.A Year in the French Revolutionary Calendar by Grand Iota (2025); Her Discourse by JOAN (2025), whose companion work, Envois: The Complete Correspondence. Love letters from Jacques Lacan to Sharon Kivland, 1973 to 1981 is forthcoming from Tenement Press in autumn.
